sundae is a spanish dreampop band and we enjoy it… it’s like a cool breeze on a hot summer day
The featured song is a new recording of “Verano-Invierno”, which will be the A side of their first 7″ single, released this summer by Discos de Kirlian. The other side of the single will be another new recording of an old song, “Hacia Atrás”.
we love surf pop with noise! milk maid is doing a great job here blending their beach boys melodies with the dinosaur jr noise. this is taken from ‘Mostly No’, Milk Maid’s second album released via FatCat on 9th July. Front man Martin Cohen is cementing his reputation as a talented songwriter straddling the line between noise and pop whilst also expanding the band’s sonic terrain. Adding swirls of psychedelia to debut ‘Yucca’s’ crafted fuzz, the home-recorded ‘Mostly No’ explores a trans-Atlantic sound that at times simultaneously recalls the grand traditions of Manchester indie and Californian acid rock but which also sits alongside contemporaries such as Ty Segall, White Fence, and The War on Drugs.
heatherwood are Maksim and Darya and they are dream\synth-pop duo from Novosibirsk, Russia.
They are a couple of seventeen year old kids in love with 80′s scandinavian aesthetics, old analogue\japanese kids synths and each other. don’t we all?
but seriously we really enjoy this track from them… dreamy and playful.
the latest Mojo Magazine comes with a free CD of “Pet Sounds” covers in celebration of the Beach Boys’ 50th anniversary. Saint Etienne did their part with a lovely bossa nova groovey version of the iconic track “Wouldn’t It Be Nice”.
